About Us

Established in 2022, Taruhara is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to the conservation of avian species and their natural habitats within the Western Ghats. Our sanctuary, Chahak Bird Sanctuary, is situated in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, near the Konkan region, encompassing dense forests and seasonal rivers that provide a haven for a diverse range of wildlife. Since our inception, we have recorded sightings of over 150 bird species, a number that continues to grow with our ongoing conservation efforts.

The Taruhara Foundation is more than just an organization—it’s a movement dedicated to preserving and nurturing the environment through innovative approaches to plant care, bird conservation, and ecological stewardship. We believe that protecting our natural heritage is not just a responsibility but a privilege shared by everyone.

At Taruhara, we combine technology, community engagement, and environmental science to address critical ecological issues. Our initiatives aim to give voice to nature, empowering individuals and communities to take action. Through projects like our Plantcare app, TIA, we enable the nurturing of young plants and contribute towards a greener, healthier future.
