Introduction
Nestled in the heart of western ghat specifically in the Raigad Biosphere reserve in the Raigad district of Maharashtra, and in close proximity of konkan, Chahak Bird Sanctuary is a serene retreat dedicated to the protection and preservation of bird species.
This region experiences a tropical climate with significant rainfall during the monsoon season (June to September).
Chahak sanctuary is surrounded by dense forest and seasonal rivers that is giving home to a diverse range of wildlife. The reserve is home to numerous bird species, making it a significant spot for birdwatching Since 2022, more than 150+ species of birds have been sighted and recorded. The expected number is going to rise with the conservation effort in place.

Our mission is to protect bird species through conservation, education, and research. We envision a world where birds and humans coexist harmoniously.
